Sunshine Doesn’t Heal Everything—But It Helps

Let’s be clear:
Sunshine won’t fix your grief.
But it can soften the edges of a hard day.

When you’re grieving, it’s easy to retreat to the couch and close the blinds. But even a little time outside can remind your body—and your heart—that you’re still here. Still healing.

Here are 3 outdoor rituals that don’t require much energy but can make a big difference:

☕ Porch coffee (or tea).
Start your morning with a warm mug outside. Just sit. Breathe. Let the sun hit your face for a few minutes before scrolling or rushing.

👣 Barefoot moments.
Kick your shoes off and feel the grass or sand under your feet. A simple way to ground yourself when emotions feel big.

🌸 Cemetery walks.
Visit your loved one’s resting place—or just stroll through the park. Moving your body in the open air can calm your mind.

You don’t have to smile at the sun.
Just let it touch you now and then.

Healing doesn’t happen all at once.
But it can happen in moments.
