Griefy Girl’s Guide to Summer, Blog 5
When Everyone’s at the Lake and You’re Just Trying to Breathe
You scroll.
You see smiling families, lakeside selfies, fireworks, floaties, and group cheers.
And you’re… on your couch.
Still in yesterday’s clothes.
Trying to remember the last time you didn’t feel exhausted.
Here’s your reminder:
Grief doesn’t care what season it is.
Summer doesn’t make your pain smaller.
And Instagram is not real life.
So if you’re just trying to breathe while everyone else is doing summer big?
That’s okay.
Try this:
🫁 One breath at a time.
When the comparison creeps in, close your eyes and focus on your breath. Inhale. Exhale. Repeat.
📴 Unfollow or mute with love.
Protect your peace. If someone's highlight reel makes your heart ache, it’s okay to take a break.
💬 Check in with someone who gets it.
Text a griefy friend. You don’t need to say much—just “Hey, today’s hard. You too?”
You’re not behind.
You’re healing.
Your summer doesn’t have to look like anyone else’s.
Let it be slow. Let it be sacred. Let it be real.
